ABOUT
The Academic Underground is an unofficial space for researchers, writers, journalists or NGO-workers who know that the most interesting conversations don't happen on panel. This is a chance to decompress, compare notes, and actually hear each other speak without shouting over a networking jazz band.
HOW
We run on intellectual capital, not venture capital. To keep this sustainable (and free), we operate on a strict BYO-Everything policy. Bring whatever you want to stimulate discussions. Our recommendation: 1 reusable coffee cup (save the planet!) filled with a warm beverage + 1 pretzel will do the job!
WHEN
We are gathering twice this week - because you can never have too many allies in Davos. Join us for Round 1 to meet the crew and get oriented. Come back for Round 2 to swap stories and decompress from the madness. Whether you make it to one or both, this is your open invitation to catch your breath and meet some new fellows.
WHERE
Locations vary and will be announced the night before the gathering. Depending on the weather, we might meet outside, so please layer up. Don't worry about the optics. Corduroy, hoodies, or the classic "I packed in a hurry", everything is fine.
